In preparation for Remembrance Sunday and Armistice Day, the 1st West Moors Scout Group have adorned the Petwyn with poppies. Thank you to those who knitted and crocheted all these beautiful poppies! Scout Leader, Lynne Anderson, worked with resident Kevin Wormley to produce a fascinating information sheet on each person named on our War Memorial. Do have a read of their impressive research. 20mph Survey

Thank you to everyone who completed our survey on reducing the speed limit on Station Road and adjoining roads to 20mph. 61% of respondents stated they did not want the Council to spend public money on a town-wide consultation on this issue. In light of the results, a majority of the Council voted not to pursue a 20mph limit for Station Road. However, we will explore further measures at the St Mary's school junction alongside the expected pedestrian crossing to improve safety in this area. Read More...

We hope to see you at our Remembrance Sunday parade and service in two weeks' time. Clergy from Churches Together will lead the parade along Station Road, with Bournemouth Youth Marching Band and lots of local groups and organisations joining to pay their respects. We'll come together for a service on the Petwyn, where the roll of honour is read before the Last Post and Reveille are sounded, and wreaths are laid. Please be aware that Station Road (between Riverside Road and Glenwood Road) will be closed for the Remembrance Day Parade and Service on Sunday 9th November between 10:30 and 12:00. The alternative route for diverted traffic (when the Parade has passed from the Riverside Road juntion past the Farm Road/Moorlands Road junction) will be via Moorlands Road, Braeside Road and Glenwood Road.
