Charity Concert: Macmillan Caring

at St.Martin's URC

12 Nov 21 - 19:30

Concert in aid of Macmillan Caring Locally

" Sunrise, Sunset "

A special charity concert is to be held in St. Martin’s United Reformed Church, who have kindly agreed to host this event in aid of the new Macmillan Unit at Christchurch Hospital.

Macmillan Caring Locally support those who are suffering from cancer and other life limiting illnesses where no cure is expected and provide help and support for the whole family. Having worked out of the present unit at Christchurch since 1974, they are desperately in need of an up-to-date facility.

Dianne Tompkins (Soprano), Daniela Ievolo (Mezzo soprano and saxophone), Francesco Iannuzzo (Tenor and keyboard) and Christopher Legrand (Baritone/Bass) along with our accompanist John Porter have put together an exciting programme of popular music with the intention of raising funds for this local Macmillan project.  Dianne, who leads the West Moors Singers, and Francesco and Daniela, who lead the St Martin’s Community Gospel Choir, are highly talented artists, you may have heard them before.

A flyer is provided for further information (based on the October event ... the core details are correct, but note the date/times are NOT applicable to this session).

The music programme includes items from Gershwin’s Porgy and Bess, Sondheim’s West Side Story, Jerome Kern’s Showboat, Mozart’s Don Giovanni, songs from My Fair Lady, Oklahoma, Fiddler on the Roof, as well as the Adagio, (Albinoni) Gabriel’s Oboe, Tico Tico, and Magnificat. We assure you of an uplifting musical afternoon.

[Due to the popularity of this event, it is a REPEAT of the October 30th event]

We hope that you will be able to come and support this really important local cause on Saturday October 30th 2021 at 2.30pm.  The venue is St Martin’s Church, BH22 0JW on the corner of Station Road and Moorlands Road, in the centre of West Moors.

You can contact Christopher Legrand [ email: c.legrand@btinternet.com ] to reserve tickets at £6 each or purchase them from Brewer and Brewer (opposite the church, on the corner of Farm Road) or reserve them on-line at www.urc-eastdorset.org.uk (Click on the ‘Concerts’ button).

Numbers are limited and tickets are selling fast so early booking is recommended.
