Cash Raffle Winners!

Cash Raffle Winners!

Published: 15 Jul 26

Our lucky cash raffle winners from Westival have all been in to collect their prizes. It's such a joyous task each year, handing an envelope of cash over to three very delighted people! Jackie (pictured above) scooped the £500 top prize - the extended silence on the end of the phone when we told her was priceless! Peter took away £300 - an excellent reward for sweltering on the field all afternoon promoting Individuality Swimming. Carol received £200; this was her first Westival as a relatively new resident to West Moors, but Carol has assured us she'll now be a regular! Two other winners came to collect their hampers of wine donated by our Town Councillors. Thank you to the Councillors who manned the raffle stall on the day! Thanks to everyone for playing, and congratulations again to this year's winners. Next year, it could be you! Read More...

A Very Enjoyable Westival

A Very Enjoyable Westival

Published: 13 Jul 26

Westival on Saturday was another great success, with lots of people braving the sun to enjoy all the free music and entertainment on Fryer Field. The Audio Allstars rocked the stage truck, with Bournemouth Carnival Band getting everyone clapping and grooving along to their upbeat tunes. Urban Displays wowed crowds with the levelled up mountain bike stunt show, and Phoenix Aerial showed off their impressive circus skills while helping others to have a go too. Krazy Kev's silly magic and Know Wander's creative craft kept kids entertained. The shady side of the field was home to birds of prey plus new animals courtesy of Blandford Animal Farm; goats, sheep and cuddly guinea pigs. Thanks to all the stall holders and vehicle owners for providing such an array of exciting things to buy and browse! We're already looking forward to next year! Read More...

Weeds in West Moors

Weeds in West Moors

Published: 2 Jul 26

We've received several reports of weeds and overgrown verges, and we completely understand residents' frustrations. Maintenance of roadside verges and pavements is conducted by Dorset Council, but please be assured that we are regularly raising residents' concerns with them and continuing to press for action wherever it is needed. Dorset Council have been sending roadsweepers around West Moors over the last couple of weeks and we have been informed their street cleanser teams will be tackling weeds as soon as possible. If you would like to highlight an area of particular concern, please report it via the title link. Read More...
