Rangers are removing a footbridge in Broadmoor Coppice today after inspection on Friday showed timbers to be damaged beyond repair. Wimborne & Ferndown Lions Club are hosting free prostate cancer testing at The Barrington in Ferndown on Saturday 3rd October. 1 in 8 white men and 1 in 4 black men will get prostate cancer in their lifetime and many will not notice symptoms until it is too late. Men aged 50+ (or 45+ with a family history of prostate cancer), across Wimborne, Ferndown and the surrounding areas are encouraged to take advantage of a free prostate cancer testing event hosted by Wimborne & Ferndown Lions Club, on Saturday 3rd October, 9am-2pm at The Barrington Theatre. High Sheriff County Lines Walk

The Dorset High Sheriff's County Line Walk sees the county's High Sheriff, Helena Conibear, walking a total of 216 miles between June and October to raise awareness of County Lines, where children and vulnerable adults are exploited by drug cartels in Dorset. The walk is entering stage 3 next week, covering Sandbanks to Sixpenny Handley. On Friday 7th August, the walk starts on Station Road in West Moors and goes through to Alderholt. All are welcome (including dogs!) to join in for part or all of the walk, and the High Sheriff is asking each walker to raise £50 if possible to raise funds for local charitieis that support and protect young people.
