West Moors Town Council are delighted to announce that on 10th April, it received a prestigious award as part of the Local Council Award Scheme by National Association of Local Councils: **Foundation Level Award** This award recognises that the Council achieves good practice in governance, community engagement and council improvement. In association with Hearing Aid Recycling, Brook View Residential and Nursing Care Home (Colten Care), Riverside Road, West Moors, is now a collection point for Hearing aids, that are no longer required or are no longer working properly (they can be refurbished/reprogrammed). Following the nomination period for Local Elections, West Moors Town Council has been uncontested. This means that we have had 11 candidates nominated for 12 seats and therefore West Moors Town Council will not be going to election. The Clerk will advertise the vacant position locally to seek candidates for co-option, and all interested parties should contact the Clerk direct. The next Council meeting where a co-option can take place, is Thursday 16th May 2024. FREE Portable cigarette butt pouches available from the Council office

FREE Portable pocket ashtrays to cut down on cigarette litter, are now available to collect from the Council Office. You can store cigarette butts in one of these FREE handy cigarette pouches, until you are able to dispose of them responsibly. The pouches are small, lightweight and reusable with a fireproof lining to extinguish cigarettes which can then be disposed of at home or in waste bins. West Moors Town Council have a number of these now in the office to give away, in the hope that it will reduce the number of DISCARDED butts on so many pavements and roads. Read More...
