Rangers are removing a footbridge in Broadmoor Coppice today after inspection on Friday showed timbers to be damaged beyond repair. Signage will be in place at either end of the path to warn walkers and the bridge will be replaced in due course - further updates on that as we get them. Read More...

Wimborne & Ferndown Lions Club are hosting free prostate cancer testing at The Barrington in Ferndown on Saturday 3rd October. 1 in 8 white men and 1 in 4 black men will get prostate cancer in their lifetime and many will not notice symptoms until it is too late. Men aged 50+ (or 45+ with a family history of prostate cancer), across Wimborne, Ferndown and the surrounding areas are encouraged to take advantage of a free prostate cancer testing event hosted by Wimborne & Ferndown Lions Club, on Saturday 3rd October, 9am-2pm at The Barrington Theatre. The Dorset High Sheriff's County Line Walk sees the county's High Sheriff, Helena Conibear, walking a total of 216 miles between June and October to raise awareness of County Lines, where children and vulnerable adults are exploited by drug cartels in Dorset. The walk is entering stage 3 next week, covering Sandbanks to Sixpenny Handley. On Friday 7th August, the walk starts on Station Road in West Moors and goes through to Alderholt. All are welcome (including dogs!) to join in for part or all of the walk, and the High Sheriff is asking each walker to raise £50 if possible to raise funds for local charitieis that support and protect young people. Dorset Police are appealing for information following a small fire in West Moors Plantation on the evening of Monday 27 July 2026. At approximately 10.45pm, a report was received from a member of the public of a fire within the plantation. We are keen to hear from anyone who was in the area around the time of the incident and may have seen any suspicious activity, people gathering within the plantation, or anyone leaving the area shortly before or after the fire was discovered.
