New Speed Indicator Device in West Moors.

A New Speed Indicator Device (SID) was installed yesterday, on one of the main roads in West Moors where residents, and West Moors Town Council, had the most concerns about speeding. The SID does not take pictures of the traffic, therefore, does not record any personal data. They monitor the speed of approaching traffic and flash up the speed of the vehicle and a warning to "slow down". This is a very helpful reminder, which we hope will combat the speeding issue in West Moors. Read More...

With Remembrance Sunday only a week away, The Petwyn in West Moors has again been bedecked in a cascade of knitted and crocheted poppies. A collective thanks goes to various community groups in West Moors and to Muriel Moore of St Martins URC, West Moors. and West Moors Scout Group’s Lynne Anderson, for organising this adoration of poppies, now lining the benches, trees and bushes on the Petwyn. The main remembrance poppy is the red one, a symbol of both Remembrance and hope for a peaceful future. Read More...

We are carrying out the same initiative this year, with the same tree outside Dixon Kelley, on Station Road. Additional Gym Equipment on Fryer Field

As part of its continued commitment to improve its facilities, and listen to what the public need, West Moors Town Council has added a unit to the outdoor gym equipment at Fryer Field. Installed by Caloo this week, the horizontal bars or chin ups as they are also known, are ready to use. These provide a training unit for various exercises. The bars can be used for pull ups, leg raises and chin ups which is perfect for building upper body muscles and strengthening arms and shoulders.
