Volunteers' Afternoon Tea

Published: 3 Jun 26

As part of Volunteers' Week, we hosted an afternoon tea yesterday to celebrate some of the many people in West Moors who generously give their time to our community. It was wonderful to bring together volunteers from across our community - including Councillors and our regular volunteers plus representatives from local charities, churches, clubs and community groups - to celebrate the countless ways they support and enrich life in West Moors. Guests enjoyed scones, sandwiches and cake, plenty of tea and conversation, and entertainment from Sally Singer and Musician . Thanks to Pinehurst Community Church for the use of their excellent facilities, including their fantastic new café space. A heartfelt thank you to everyone who joined us. Your dedication, kindness and community spirit help make West Moors the wonderful place it is. Read More...

For most residents it is straightforward, but for older or vulnerable people, particularly those with telecare alarms, pendant alarms, or no mobile phone, it can be confusing and potentially risky if they are not prepared in time. We're sharing a free resource from Phonely which you can use to help friends, neighbours or family members who may need a little extra help ahead of the switch. If you'd like a printable copy, please contact the office. Read More...
