We're delighted to announce the winning photographs in the Winter round of our Seasonal Photography Competition, chosen this time by Cllr Jim Staig and his wife, Verena. Alison Page's shot of the Plantation (pictured) was their overall winner, with its pleasing layers of long grass, heather and pines. Michael Dorman's misty morning shot of a goalpost on Fryer Field was a close second. Michael captured one of our Town Council assets beautifully! Rob Laker was awarded third place for his stunning capture of the Northern Lights, visible in West Moors in January due to high solar activity. We're so pleased the rare sighting of these shimmering auroras were caught on camera for our archives! Thank you to everyone who entered this round - more photos can be viewed on our Facebook page. They'll also be on display in our office until Friday 13th February, when they'll move to West Moors Library for the remainder of the month. Read More...
