West Moors, with a population well in excess of 7500, supports a rich diversity of clubs, associations, voluntary organisations and informal groups. If yours is missing from the list below, or you're starting a new one, contact us with more information.

AK Dance Academy

Offering classes from Tot’s Baby Ballet through to Advanced in R.A.D (Royal Academy of Dance) Ballet, I.S.T.D (Imperial Society of Teachers of Dancing) Tap, Modern/ Jazz, Disco Freestyle, Rock’n’Roll, Mixed Street, Commercial and Contemporary.

Carers Support Group

West Moors Village Surgery Carers monthly group meets on the second Monday of every month between 2pm and 4pm at Brook View Care Home.

Castleman Community Larder

A not-for-profit community interest company set up to tackle food poverty in the local community. They operate membership based, social supermarket to support low-income families and struggling households.

Creative Crafters

A friendly group, limited to ten members, who meet twice a month to socialise and craft. Annual membership is £35 or Individual Session payments of £3. 9.30 - 1pm on the 1st and 3rd Tuesday of each month, except August & December.

Dementia Action Group

The West Moors Dementia Action Group works to raise awareness and improve the lives of people living with memory loss and dementia, and their carers.

East Dorset Craft Club

A small papercraft group meeting once a month to work together and share ideas. They meet one Saturday each month in the Memorial Hall from 9am to 5pm, and the cost for the day is £10 per person.

East Dorset Health Walks

Meet at 10am outside Penn Court Cafe every Thursday. There are two ability levels, led by trained volunteer health walk leaders. Ideal for beginners and an opportunity to get out in the fresh air and meet new people. Free of charge.

Elite Academy of Dance

Elite Academy of Dance have been using Oakhurst First School as a venue for our classes for 15 years and have recently started using West Moors Youth Club for some of their classes too.

Flights Country Music Club

A friendly country music club meeting once a month on the last Saturday of each month, or the odd third Saturday. We have live music either a solo, duo, trio or band. Bring your own food and drink. entrance fee is £10 for non-members and £8 for membe

Girlguiding

Rainbows, Brownies (two troops), Guides & Rangers, meeting at the Girlguiding Hall on Ashurst Road.

Gospel Choir

The choir is now established but always welcome new singers. Their practice time is usually Thursday evenings at St Martin's Church on the corner of Station Road and Moorlands Road.

Grange Athletic Youth Football

Grange Athletic FC’s home grounds are Fryers Field, West Moors and Ford Lane, Ferndown. They train on the MUGA (Multi-Use Games Area) at West Moors during the winter months and on the grass at Fryers Field/Ford Lane during the spring/summer months.

Hants & Dorset Card Club

A collector's group for items like cigarette, trade, and football cards, meeting at The Fryers Field Pavilion from 12:30pm to 4:30pm on certain days.

In Jolly Good Company

In Jolly Good Company exists to help alleviate the physical and mental issues caused by loneliness and isolation.

Little Pines Pre-School Group

Wednesday's 10-11:30am, term-time only playgroup based at Pinehurst Community Church.

Lunch and Friendship Club

Weekly Wednesday meeting (except August) for anyone age 60 or over who is a resident of West Moors.

Providing tuition in Modern Ballroom, Latin American, Classical Sequence, Line Dancing, First Wedding Dance and Fitsteps for social and medalist dancers of all ages.

Rock-A-Tots (Nursery)

Sturts Community Trust

A working organic biodynamic farm, supporting adults with learning disabilities.

U3A

Study groups aimed at encouraging people who no longer work to join and continue learning and socialising. They meet occasionally at the Memorial Hall.

Wessex Wyverns Wargamers Club

Board games, Syfy, 40k, historical battles for over 18s. Monday nights in the Memorial Hall, 6.30pm to 10.30pm. Meet three times a month.

West Moors Art Group

Art Group of varying skill levels who enjoy drawing and painting. The group meet in the Memorial Hall on Mondays 9.30am - 12.30pm. All welcome.

West Moors Drama Group

Performances staged, usually twice per year, at the Memorial Hall

West Moors Flower Group

Hold regular monthly meetings in the Memorial Hall. They are affiliated to NAFAS (The National Association of Flower Arrangement Societies) and have a demonstration or talk most months.

West Moors Football Club

Over 18's first, reserve and ladies teams playing in the Dorset Football League based in West Moors.

West Moors Horticultural Society

Long-standing society with two major shows, an annual plant sale, eight talks and two coffee mornings each year.

West Moors Memorial Bowls Club

All welcome to join, whether you'd like to join a league, enter national, county and club competitions or just play friendly or social bowls.

West Moors Middle School

This school covers the 'middle' stage in the local three-tier system (ages 9-13)

West Moors Painting for Pleasure

A small, friendly group meeting every Friday morning 9-15am till 1-00pm in the Memorial Hall. The group works in most mediums and is untutored, however the members are on hand to help each other with advice and encouragement.

West Moors Singers

An established mixed voice choir that has been in existence for fifty five years. The choir’s main performances happen twice a year, in the Spring and at Christmas but occasionally does smaller concerts for private groups and nursing homes.

West Moors Townswomen's Guild

Meeting onnce a month, on the third Thursday 2pm-4pm in the Memorial Hall. There are talks of a wide variety, quizzes, baking competitions, parties and a monthly lunch club and a coffee morning in the village.

West Moors Youth Club - The Vine

Open on Mondays and Fridays, with fun, creative sessions for years 6-9.

West Moors Youth FC

A community based organisation aiming to provide opportunities for children in and around West Moors to enjoy football and to improve their skills through training and matchplay.

Women's Institute

West Moors WI (Women's Institute) meet on the first Thursday of the month in the hall from 2 pm. We are a friendly group of women ranging in ages and on average 35-40 members attend the monthly meeting.

Zumba Fitness

A group fitness class that is less intense than a regular Zumba class. Suitable for anyone who hasn’t exercised before, or for a long time. Thursdays 10-11am in the Memorial Hall.
