VISITING THE SHOP
They look and feel like a normal supermarket shop, offering a dignified way to gain access to groceries without the need for a formal referral. Members pay £7 when they attend, to be eligible for at least 12 yellow items and 3 red items, as well as unlimited green items. This is approximately two shopping bags of food. Each member makes their own choice rather than have a preselected bag of food.

Items include:

• Fresh fruit & vegetables • Chilled and frozen items such as milk, meat, cheese and yoghurt • Bakery products • Store cupboard staples – pasta, rice, cereals, tinned food, tea and coffee • Hygiene products – soap, shampoo etc.

Download BanktheFood app and follow the Castleman Community Larder and other food banks in the area.

Food banks depend on generous donations from the local community, yet often they receive a surplus of some items and not enough of others. That's where BanktheFood comes in. The free app connects donors with food banks in real-time, letting shoppers know exactly what's needed as they shop.

BanktheFood is a charity helping food banks and food poverty organisations across the UK get the items they need to support their community.

It's a simple way to ensure your donations make the biggest impact.
