West Moors Annual Litter Pick July 2021

Showery weather did not deter our local volunteer litter pickers from taking part in this year’s annual community litter pick today - Saturday 3rd July.

Those that gave their time were; WMTC Cllr David Green and his wife, our very own Volunteer Litter Warden Malcom Adams, reliable community volunteers Mr and Mrs Ellard, Reverends’ Andy Muckle and Lynne Morris (and her Husband) of St. Mary’s Church, West Moors, members of the community Mr and Mrs Wilson, Mr and Mrs Reid, Mr and Mrs Jones, Ms Dee Elston, Ms Val Kelly, Mrs Rosie Brown, Paul Brealey and Gavin Waddington.
In total the 19 litter-picking volunteers filled 12 sacks of rubbish collected in West Moors, from as far as Sturts Farm to the other end of the town by Uplands Road, within 1 hour.

It is such a shame that a minority of people find it acceptable to drop their rubbish for somebody else to collect. West Moors Town Council owe a thank you to everybody who took part in today’s litter pick and for selflessly making our streets cleaner for the enjoyment of others.

Also a thank you must go to the Ferndown team of Dorset Waste Services for the provision of their litter picking equipment and collection of rubbish after the event. Their support has been committed and constant.
