St. Martin's URC Christmas Tree Festival

THIS YEAR'S CHRISTMAS TREE FESTIVAL WILL BE TAKING PLACE ON FRIDAY 8th DECEMBER 2023,

at St. Martin's United Reformed Church, on the corner of Station Road and Moorlands Road, West Moors.

St. Martin's URC has been hosting a Christmas Tree Festival in their Church, for 10 years now.
At the end of November/beginning of December every year (Wednesday to the Saturday), a lovely selection of up to 30 beautiful decorated trees is put on display for all to see.

It is not a competition, just an opportunity to bring the Community together and is completely free to visit, but donations are welcome, and will go to the Churches chosen charity- this year- 'Dementia UK- West Moors'.

The church is transformed into a small forest of trees, each one created by a different group, representing different themes; a charity looking to raise awareness, a community group who have made a tree to highlight their work, or an organisation to highlight their services.

Last year, WMTC entered a modest display to reflect the Council as a whole body, showing its members, facilities, responsibilities, and staff.
We are now on Display again- Tuesday 5th December, for you to come and enjoy .

The set up date was Monday 4th and Tuesday 5th December, with Wednesday 6th December, open to the public to enjoy the creations, until Saturday 9th December around midday.

The amount raised from donations was £300.00

For many, the tree festival heralds the arrival of the festive season (as well as the Carols on the Petwyn!) So Merry December and enjoy the trees!

Next year, the tree festival will be held from Wednesday 4th December until Saturday 7th December, 2024.
