St. Martin's URC has been hosting a Christmas Tree Festival in their Church for 10 years now. It is held at the end of November/beginning of December every year (Wednesday to the Saturday). For many, the tree festival heralds the arrival of the festive season.
It is not a competition, just an opportunity to bring the Community together and is completely free to visit, but donations are welcome, and will go to the Churches chosen charity.
The church is transformed into a small forest of trees, each one created by a different group, business or organisation. In 2024, the Church introduced a theme of The Lion, The Witch and The Wardrobe, and entries were truly creative and inspiring!
Our Chair, Cllr Rita Burke, and resident Jan Salt, decorated the entry for WMTC in 2024, and did a wonderful job.
